Harvard Medical School professor and Director of Radiology at Boston's Beth Israel Hospital, Dr. Eric T. Fossel, was among a growing group of scientists who, with the knowledge of the NO findings, realized that the ability to deliver L-Arginine transdermally to increase local blood flow would be an important medical contribution. Dr. Fossel's belief was so strong that he left both his teaching position, which he held for 25 years, as well as his directorship at the hospital to establish SST to devote 100% of his time to this important endeavor.
